terms of use
last updated: October 2026
"Cozy Catastrophe Games" is an independent hobby project run by an individual (or small group of individuals) — it is not a registered company or business. Wherever these terms say "we" or "us," they mean that person or group, not a corporate entity. By using this site, you agree to the terms below.
what this site is
This is a fan-run/hobby games site: a home for the games we make, updates on what we're working on, and links to where you can follow along or find us elsewhere. It's a passion project. This site isn't a store itself: if we release paid games, they're sold through third-party stores (like Steam or itch.io) that we link to from here.
using the site
You're welcome to browse, share links to, and enjoy this site. Please don't:
- try to disrupt, overload, or attack the site or the services it depends on
- scrape, copy, or republish the site's content or games as if they were your own
- use anything here to impersonate us or misrepresent your connection to this project
our games & content
The games, artwork, logo, and writing on this site are ours (or used with permission) unless stated otherwise. You're free to play, screenshot, and talk about our games — including making videos or streams — but please don't repackage or resell them as your own work. Free games are free to play as described here; paid games come with the terms in "buying our games" below.
buying our games
When we release paid games, they're sold through third-party stores such as Steam or itch.io, not directly on this site. The store handles your payment, your download and your purchase record, and its own terms, refund policy and privacy policy apply to the purchase. We don't see or store your payment details.
You own what you buy. When you buy one of our games, it's yours: keep it, play it as much as you like, and show it off however you want, including streams, videos and reviews. Like buying a book or an album, you own your copy, while we keep the copyright in the game itself (its code, art, music and writing).
The one thing we ask is that you don't:
- resell the game, or upload or hand out copies publicly (like file-sharing sites)
- pass the game or its content off as your own work
Sharing it with friends and family is totally fine. Lend your copy, play together, show it off. Just don't sell it or spread it around publicly.
Refunds and problems. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its own refund policy. If something is wrong with a game, email us first and we'll do our best to fix it. Nothing here limits any rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Games in development. Games marked "in development" may be unfinished, buggy or change a lot before release. We can't promise any particular features, updates, extra content or length of support for a game, and we may patch, change or take a game off sale at any time. If we take a game off sale, we won't take back copies people already bought, though keeping access to a game depends on the store you bought it from.
Prices. Prices, sales and regional pricing are set on the store page, and the price shown there when you buy is the one that applies.
donations
Any "buy us a coffee" or donation links on this site are entirely voluntary and go through a third-party payment page (currently Coindrop). Donations are gifts to support the project, not a purchase of goods or services, and we don't guarantee anything in return for them. Donations are handled by that third party, not by us directly, and their own terms apply to the transaction itself.
links to other places
This site links out to places like Discord and various social platforms. Once you leave our site, you're subject to that platform's own terms and rules — we're not responsible for what happens there.
no warranty
This site and the games linked from it are provided "as is," as a hobby effort. We can't promise the site will always be up, bug-free, or perfectly accurate, and we're not liable for any damages or losses from using it, as far as the law allows. This doesn't take away any rights you can't legally give up, such as consumer rights when you buy a game.
no company, no special protections
Because this isn't a registered business, there's no corporate entity standing between you and the individual(s) running it. That said, ordinary consumer-protection and platform rules (Discord's terms, your local laws, etc.) still apply as normal to anything you do outside our control.
changes to these terms
We may update this page as the site or project changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version.
